About

Nourished by Sound was born out of a desire to create nourishing spaces to honor and support our bodies through rest, sound, and softness.

Shana facilitates sound and vocal meditation sessions to encourage healing, play, and rest.

“Struggling with anxiety for many years, a long-time friend prompted me to investigate sound healing. Since this discovery, I have been devoted to personal sound healing practices and have facilitated sound and vocal meditation workshops to encourage others in their own healing jouney through sound.”

Growing up in a family of music lovers, Shana studied classical voice at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received a MA in Arts Administration at the University of New Orleans. Her work for Arts nonprofits spans 18 + years, with museums, arts councils and performing arts centers, with a focus on arts education and family programming.

In 2018, she completed the Level 1 Sound Healing certification through the Academy of Sound Healing based in Cornwall, UK; and is currently working to complete at 12-month long, Level 2 Diploma program.

Shana leads courses with the Duke University OLLI Program and facilitates sound experiences in Durham, Asheville and the British Virgin Islands.
